This is the website of the abstract artist and painter. Jonathan works with found materials, textiles, embroidery and painting to explore the psychological experience of physical space. The works are created through a process of improvisation and decisions are made at the point of making. They are not literal and not specific to any time or place. They are made from the history of abstraction and craft and explore the sensation of the body moving through space and the movements of light we catch in the corner of the eye. These art works are fractured fields which coexist both as bodies and landscapes creating a space where the self has merged completely with its surroundings.
